Ask Brand Owners How They Are Going.
It is a one man battle for most.
Throughout my business’s growth, I have had a lot of hardships, stressful moments, hair tearing dilemmas and down days. This does not negate the fact that I have many more amazing days and moments than bad but in the world of business ownership the highs are high, and the lows are low.
I have talked to many other brand owners about their brands and their lives, learning from their operations and how they do things to help my own brand and life. Many of them work day jobs as well as working on their businesses every other waking hour of the day. This can be super overwhelming in regards to simple business operations like: Making products, designing decals and products, posting regularly, fulfilling orders, marketing your brand, dealing with manufacturers, communicating with customers, figuring out the next step, learning from previous mistakes and many more aspects that are a part of owning a small business.
9/10 automotive brands that you support are one man shows. This means one single person is dealing with every aspect of their business and for many it is also their source of living. If your brand dies you need a plan B and you need to figure out what the hell to do so you can afford your housing, your car and your dependents. For some there is the backup of their day jobs or other income sources but for others everything rides on the performance of their brand.
Every brand I have had the privilege of conversing with has told me how much they value their followers and customers because without you guys, they would have no brand at all. Every one of them brags about how kind and amazing their fanbase is and how great it is to have a platform that can share their unique message.
Every brand out there is hustling to progress and grow. Many support their followers and have your best interests at heart when coming up with new products, designs and brand new concepts in the automotive scene. DM’s are full and many I have talked to have the mindset that talking to their followers is a great way to wind down and reconnect with you all as humans instead of customers.
Next time you run across a busy brand that you enjoy give them a message asking how they are going with things it means a lot to know that their followers care about their mental wellbeing. A small indication of care goes a long way for those that are struggling in their current situations. Many will reply with “yes I am doing great thank you for asking!” but every once in a while, someone will be struggling with something related to their business or another part of their lives. Some brand owners do not have the time to deal with these issues as they have a million other things to worry about. Have a look at your collection of stickers on your rear or quarter panel windows and think about how that brand is doing and maybe throw them a message ^_^
The smallest thing can make the biggest difference.
Hope everyone is staying safe in this time drive hard and do not crash!
